Now that Vineman is over ...

A crazy few weeks it always is around the Vineman races trying to balance the majority of my time working with the races and taking care of my clients. Now that the time has passed I can report on all of the performances and updates from the racing crew! Above is a photo of Phil Johnson during the Vineman Ironman 70.3

-Tom Anderson ... on great form for Vineman Ironamn 70.3, Tom and i learned a valuable lesson in pacing and nutrition. Tom still finished top 10 in his age group and is already chomping at the bit for the next one. Watch for Tom to nail one at the Big Kahauna Half in September and we both are looking forward to Vineman next year ;)

- Cheryl Collins ... had a great day and performance in the Full Vineman Aqua Bike. As part of her training for her first Ironman (Ironman Florida) the effort has given her a tremendous boost in confidence going forward.

- Chuck Sloan ... Chuck takes another win at at the Lighthouse Triathlon. Chuck will be racing again this weekend in his final preparations for the World Championships in Germany.

- Tom Ellefson ... is thrilled about the future after his first half ironman at Vineman Ironman 70.3. Well done Tom!

-David Erlich ... persevered through tough day at the Vineman Ironman 70.3. Like a trooper he made it to the line! Congrats David

-Jamie Lau ... nailed his first outing at the half ironman distance after over a year of methodical training in getting his body prepared the healthy way. Well done Jamie!

-John Lander ... brought home another PB with his race at the Vineman Ironman 70.3 plus a confidence building result at the Full Vineman Aquabike as part of his preparations for the Hawaii Ironman

-Layne Scoggins ... in his preparations for Ironman Florida Layne put together a real nice Vineman 70.3 performance. Layne is in a good place as he moves forward with his training for the big Day in November. Good stuff "Big Dog"

-Odessa Schexnaydre had a wonderful first half ironman with a great performance at the Vineman Ironman 70.3 ... i think she is hungry for more now!

Phil Johnson - didn't have his best day in the heat of the Vineman 70.3 but he hung strong and is super motivated to keep knocking out his great season!

Jennifer Surprise & Scott Wing - Crazy as they might be they both went to tackle the Death Ride out in the Sierras. They both conquered 4 of the 5 passes in "ugly" conditions and at altitude. Glad they did it and not me ;) ... Kudos to both of you.

Darlene Schrijver - WOW, in tough conditions (personal and climate) Darlene crossed line with a big smile (and some flowers) at the Full Vineman ... WELL done Darlene! Rest up crazy lady.

Steve McCann ... on great form and fitness Steve McCann fell, unfortunately, victim to the mechanical DNF gods at the Vineman Ironman 70.3 I was incredibly bummed out as Steve had done great preparation for the event.
I hope that covers everybody. Watch for our next round of races with folks at Folsom International, Ironman Canada, Ukiah Traithlon, ITU World Championships in Hamburg, Germany and The Big Kahuna.
Until next time ...
DL
