The first week of May is in the books and the racing season is in full swing! Over the last three weeks we have had some wonderful results and racing anywhere from Wildflower in California, to St Croix Virgin Islands and everywhere in between! Qualifying Slots for Ironman Hawaii and Ironman 70.3 Championships have been secured already and things are off to a great start. Congratulations to all who raced over the past three weeks. Below is a sample of what's been happening:
- Amanda Erwin kicked off the season with second place overall at the Lone Star Half Ironman and 10th place overall (age group elite) and a PR at St. Anthony's in Florida.
- Dana Chance started her season with an OVERALL win at the Spring Fever Tri in Tulsa, OK. She followed that with a brilliant age group third at St Croix Ironman 70.3, missing her Kona spot by just one position. Next race Dana ;)
- Jennifer Surprise kicked her season off with an overall 6th place finish (age group 2nd) at the Sacramento International Triathlon Sprint race!
- Jamie Lau kicked things off with a top ten finish at the Napa Sprint Tri
- Marcus Hartely overcame some early season foot problems to have a satisfying race at the Napa Vintage Half Ironman in route to his big goal for 2007 ... Ironman Couer D' Alene.
- Rob Chance kicked off his season with a fourth place overall at the Spring Fever Triathlon in Tulsa, OK. THEN Rob followed that with an AGE GROUP 1st place at St Croix Ironman 70.3. With that 1st place finish Rob secured his Hawaii Ironman World Championship qualifying slot!
