About two years ago i began working with a gentleman named Rob Chance from Tulsa OK. Rob is someone I formerly raced against when i lived in that area of the country (Fayetteville, AR) 10 years ago. Oddly enough we crossed paths as i was announcing at a Half Ironman race a couple years ago and we got to talking. Rob had come back from a long layoff, got re-motivated by the Ironman and was set to do his first (IM Florida) in November of 2005. Rob's dilemma at that point was figuring out his final 3-4 months of training before the race and i encouraged him to give me a call. That was the beginning of "TTEOK" ... Train To Endure Oklahoma ;)
From that point Rob has not only been a client but a friend, and a big believer in my skills to work with people striving for excellance. He has personally brought me 3 clients that you have likely seen updates on; Amanda Erwin, Dana Chance (Rob's wife), and Chuck Sloan. I thank Rob immensely for trusting me (especially with his wife's training) and supporting me! That leads me to this update because it involves the majority of the Oklahoma crew as they tackled the 25th anniversary Tulsa Triathlon! (a race i am intimately familiar with)
Rob Chance - In his build up for Buffalo Springs 70.3 Rob lifted his fitness one more time and also brought home 2nd place overall! Well done Rob ... more good things are coming!
Dana Chance - One week after Honu 70.3 Dana brought home a 3rd place overall but also won the swim and bike primes in the women's field. Next step for Dana is preps for Ironman Canada
Chuck Sloan - If you read the update from May you might remember Chuck's speedy performance & 10k at Memphis in May? Well he did it again in taking the overall win at Tulsa Triathlon. Chuck is in his final preps for USA Triathlon National Championships!
Whether it's in the water or it's in the blood, there is some good Train To Endure "mojo" in Oklahoma right now! For Rob's write up on the race take a look over at: http://www.robchancesworld.blogspot.com/
This weekend there are folks racing at Ironman Couer D' Alene, Buffalos Spings 70.3, Pacific Crest Half Ironman and San Jose International. More on those results in the next update!
